PARKVILLE, Mo., Nov. 12, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- World Launch of the Jesus Maria, Jalisco, Mexico Project Parkville Rotary Club is excited to announce the world launch of a new model of intervention to eradicate sexual violence and HIV/AIDS. Mr. Yoshiaki Yamasaki M.S.Ed., Executive Director of the World Health Care Infrastructures (WHCI) d.b.a. The Philadelphia AIDS Consortium, and his team of world-renowned expert pioneers in this field, will be presenting a program at Park University on The Eradication of Sexual Violence and HIV/AIDS on Friday, December 10th at Noon in the Park University Distance Learning Center. The program will also include the world primer of a documentary regarding the Jesus Maria Project. A reception for dignitaries from Philadelphia and Jesus Maria will begin at 11:30AM before the formal presentation. The program will also include the world primer of a documentary of the Jesus Maria Project beginning at 1:00PM This program was born from friendships and partnerships formed between Rotarians of Parkville, Rotarians of Arandas, Rotarians of Tepatitlan, the citizens of Jesus Maria, citizens from Parkville and the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area, The Kansas City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, World Health Care Infrastructures (WHCI), National and International NGOs including the Women Organized Against Rape (WOAR), the Municipality of Jesus Maria, the Department of Coesida in the State of Jalisco, Mexico. Their common goal is to address this critical world health issue of eradicating sexual violence and HIV/AIDS.
This public health initiative of the Rotary goal of this Rotary program is to launch this project and bring awareness through the education of Rotarians and myriad stakeholders interested in being a part of the start-up phase of the Jesus Maria Project. Information will be provided outlining why the need for the Jesus Maria Project is critical to the citizens of Jesus Maria and the State of Jalisco. The funds raised will provide the necessary supplies, including HIV/AIDS testing kits, training for the clinicians in Jesus Maria, educational materials, pharmaceuticals and the educational component, including counseling for the survivors of sexual assault and HIV/AIDS.
There will also be an in depth strategic planning session with all stakeholders gathering in Parkville for this program and to present the full scope of the desired end result of building the Jesus Maria Sexual Assault and HIV/AIDS Clinic which will provide crucial resources and services. The land for the clinic has already been donated and the architectural plans have been drawn with the approval and support of the Municipality of Jesus Maria and the State of Jalisco. Services of the self-sustaining clinic will be providing services to the regional area including the entire State of Jalisco.
