SAN DIEGO, Nov. 12, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The San Diego chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI San Diego) will welcome Kathleen M. Carney, Senior Legal Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, Relational Investors on Thursday, November 18th at 5:30 p.m. at San Diego's Websense, Inc.
in a program entitled "An Active Investor's Perspective on Unlocking Shareholder Value." Relational ranks as one of the country's highest profile and most successful activist investors. The program will include information of interest to IR professionals, CEOs, CFOs, and corporate legal counsels.
Ms. Carney will help attendees determine if their respective companies are potential targets for activist investors and will share critical information about what to expect and how they should engage if a company is targeted. This is the second program of NIRI San Diego's well-received two-part series on the rise of activist investing.
