Talk about turning lemons into lemonade.

Luxist reports that billionaire Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone has turned a nasty black eye from a violent mugginginto an advertisement for the high-end watch he lost.

The mugging happened two weeks ago in London, as the 80-year-old Ecclestone was "punched and kicked to the ground" while his 31-year-old Brazilian girlfriend looked on "in terror."Both were forced to hand over about $300,000 in goods, including "a special-edition Hublot wristwatch".

While the four muggers got away, neither Ecclestone nor the watch company will let this marketing opportunity escape. Luxist says a new ad to run in the Financial Times and the International Herald-Tribune will carry a picture of the battered billionaire next to a photo of his prized missing watch, with the tagline: "See what people will do for a Hublot".

Surprised?

Not when you consider the outrageous things Ecclestone has done in his long career, like calling women "domestic appliances,"and noting that Hitler "could command a lot of people able to get things done."
