Health care stocks have been a dud, but author Stephen Weiss thinks he's found a real fire cracker in one health care name.
Over the past ten years, the space has consistently underperformed the S&P 500 index, said Weiss. It's actually been responsible for pulling the index down, being as its 11 percent of the S&P. Lately, the space hasn't been doing any better, as there still seems to be little clarity on how health care reform will pan out.
But because health care reform allocated $30 billion in funding for electronic record keeping, Weiss thinks Allscripts Healthcare Solutions could benefit. The Chicago-based technology company provides electronic-based record keeping. Other companies do too, but Weiss thinks this is the cheapest play.
Weiss has a price target of $23, which is 25 percent upside from current levels.
Weiss co-founded a hedge fund, wrote "The Billion Dollar Mistake"and is currently working on a second investment book.
