Pops & Drops: Anadarko, MBIA...

Following are moves you might have missed. Find out why shares of Anadarko and MBIA popped while General Moly dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Anadarko (APC) popped 6%. According to published reports, BHP may be contemplating a $90-a-share bid for this company. - I'm a buyer, says Jon Najarian.

MBIA (MBI) popped 14%. JPMorgan Chase and Barclays withdrew from a lawsuit opposed to the insurer's plans to divide its insurance units. - I like it, says Todd Gordon.

Endo Pharmaceuticals (ENDP) popped 2%. The company said it received U.S. approval to market Fortesta gel to treat low testosterone in men. - That must be a relief for men with low testosterone, chuckles Patty Edwards.

Alpha Natural Resources (ANR) popped 4%. Broadly positive economic news buoyed investor sentiment in this coal provider.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

General Moly (GMO) dropped 5%. Perhaps the sell-off was technical, with investors taking profits after the stock touched a 52-week high. - Nobody's ever gone broke taking profits, says Brian Kelly.
