If Steve-o Forbes can hang out with me for an hour from 5-6 in the morning, you can give me 5 seconds to skim the Cliffs Notes version of my show:
PAINT IT BLACK: Oil is at $100 this morning—oil traders are the new bond traders.
PAINT THE TOWN: Red across Asia and Europe.
ASIA INFLATION: South Korea's CPI jumps to a 27-month high. Meanwhile, Shanghai raises wages to help citizens cope with escalating prices.
TEST, TEST: Portugal going to market with a simultaneous bond buyback and Tresury sales of up to one billion euros.
NASTY: Saudi's stock market suffered the worst decline in more than 2 years.
OIL SPECULATION: A gas tanker exploded near Gaddafi's compound; US warships move closer to Libya; Violent clashes continue in the eastern town of Brega.
OIL SUPPLIES: US Inventory data is out at 10:30 A.M.—forecasts call for oil to rise by 1m barrels, gasoline by 100k barrels, but distillates to drop by 1m barrels.
TO RUSSIA WITH LOVE: BP's Russian joint venture TNK-BP offered to buy a 5% stake in BP for $8.1b. (This in theory resolves a dispute over BP's proposed oil and gas deal with Russia's Rosneft)
BUFFETT: He doesn't worry about oil prices. Apparently Elephant Gun doesn't run on fossil fuel.
NERD ALERT: The iPad 2 comes out today with or without my other fav Steve-o. It's expected to be lighter, thinner, faster- have a camera for video....um...chatting.
