Research in Motion's Chief Marketing Officer Keith Pardy will be leaving the company for personal reasons, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
RIM , which is based in Waterloo, Ontario, said Pardy will aid in the transition process for his replacement over a six-month period. The newspaper report did not clarify whether the company has found a succesor.
Pardy broke the news to the company about a month ago, according to a source.
RIM manufactures the BlackBerry series of smart phones, which have become ubiquitious in the business world, and Pardy's resignation comes just weeks before the company was due to release its PlayBook tablet — one of the company's most anticipated products.
