I was playing around on Twitteron Saturday night and I asked people to come up with the next great ballpark food. The responses were so tremendous that I extended the entries until last night and decided that today, right here on this blog, I would hold a vote.
I knew it would be fun to for fans to come up with the next great thing, but also knew it would mean nothing if a team didn't actually make the item. Last night, in the process of getting the submissions, I got a note from Toby Hyde, the director of broadcasting and communications for the Savannah Sand Gnats, the Single-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Within minutes, the team agreed to making the winners and putting them on its ballpark menu for every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night home games.
