National Semiconductor reported revenue that declined from a year earlier and missed analysts' forecasts, causing its shares to slip in after-hours trade Thursday.
The chipmaker reported earnings of 24 cents a share, in line with analyst's estimates for its fiscal third quarter. That figure compares with 22 cents a share a year earlier.
National Semiconductor said its revenue came in at $344 million, versus $362 million last year.
Analysts on average expected the company to report earnings of 24 cents a share on revenue of $352 million, according to data from Thompson Reuters.
