Jim Cramer has long been waiting for the U.S. government to embrace natural gas because he thinks it’s a cheaper, cleaner and more “domestically abundant” transportation fuel. Washington has only disappointed, but nevertheless, many big corporations are making the switch all on their own because nat gas saves them a fortune on fuel costs.
Take Waste Management, for example. The U.S.’s largest waste collection and disposal company already uses compressed nat gas to fuel roughly 1,400 garbage trucks. In the next five years, about 80 percent of its new truck purchases will be powered by nat gas.
The "Mad Money" host wanted to see how it’s working, so he met up with CEO David Steiner at one of Waste Management’s nat gas fueling stations. Check out the video to see how it went.
