FINK ON POLITICS:

ONE OF THE MAIN CHANGES IN THE INVESTING WORLD VERSUS SAY 5 OR 10 YEARS AGO POLITICS ARE PLAYING A MUCH MORE SUBSTANTIAL ROLE IN THE DIRECTION OF THE MARKETPLACE, I THINK WE HAVE SUCH IMPORTANT ISSUES TO ADDRESS POLITICALLY THAT THEY ARE HAVING SUCH AN IMPACT ON THE MARKETS AND THEN ON THE ECONOMY.

FINK ON LEADERSHIP:

WHETHER IT IS AN INVESTOR WHETHER IT IS A CEO OR A POLITICIAN WE ARE FOCUSING ON SHORT TERM CYCLES AND UNFORTUNATELY CEOS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO PLAY A BIGGER ROLE IN LEADERSHIP AND FOCUS ON LONGER TERM INVESTING AND POLITICIANS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO FOCUS ON GENERATIONAL ISSUES AND WE ARE NOT SEEING ENOUGH OF THAT.

FINK ON FUTURE:

UNFORTUNATELY PEOPLE ARE SPENDING MORE TIME TRYING TO GET RE-ELECTED, CEO'S ARE TRYING TO KEEP THEIR JOBS, AS YOU NOTICE THE CEO TERMS ARE SHRINKING EVERY YEAR…WE ARE COMPACTING ALL OF THE TIME FRAME AND WE ARE NOT SEEING WHAT I WOULD CALL LEADERSHIP AND GUIDANCE AND STEWARDSHIP IN TERMS OF FOCUSING ON HOW TO BUILD A BETTER FUTURE.

FINK ON EUROPE:

EUROPE HAS MANY MORE ISSUES THAN THE UNITED STATES DOES BECAUSE IT IS NOT A FEDERATION OF COUNTRIES LIKE WE ARE A FEDERATION OF STATES EACH COUNTRY HAS ITS OWN JURISDICTION.

FINK ON RETIREMENT:

IF YOU ARE A COUPLE WHO IS 60 YEARS OLD, ONE IF YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE UNTIL 92 SO THAT IS JUST DEMOGRAPHICS TODAY AND SO THE IDEA OF RETIRING AT 65 WITH 25+ YEARS LEFT THAT TO ME IS QUITE SCARY…YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT 1/3 OF YOUR LIFE THAT YOU ARE NOT PRODUCTIVE, THAT YOU ARE GETTING MONEY FROM THE STATE…LONGEVITY WE NEED TO START FOCUSING ON IT WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT LONGEVITY IS A BLESSING NOT A CURSE.

FINK ON TREASURIES:

IF YOU RETIRE AT 65 AND THE STATISTICAL PROBABILITY IS YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE UNTIL 90…YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET TO THAT NEST EGG USING 10 YEAR TREASURIES OR 30 YEAR BONDS AT THESE INTEREST RATES AND MORE IMPORTANTLY NOW THE 30 YEAR TREASURY WITH A 22+YEAR DURATION HAS MORE VOLATILITY THAN EQUITIES TODAY."

FINK ON FACEBOOK:

IF THE FUNDAMENTALS OF FACEBOOK ARE STRONG, IF THE ANALYSTS ARE CORRECT IN THE FUTURE OUTLOOK OF FACEBOOK, AND IF THEY EXCEED THOSE ESTIMATES OVER THE NEXT 4 QUARTERS THIS WILL NOT BE A GREAT SHORT TERM OUTCOME BUT THE LONG TERM OUTCOME OF FACEBOOK WILL BE STRONG.

FINK ON DEPOSIT INSURANCE:

THERE IS SOME NOISE IN EUROPE COMING OUT THAT THEY ARE REALLY CONTEMPLATING THIS IDEA OF HAVING DEPOSIT INSURANCE, WE HAVE THAT IN OUR COUNTRY, EUROPE DOES NOT HAVE THAT, AND SO YOU HAVE MORE RUNS IN BANKS AS A RESULT OF THAT, WE WOULD HAVE HAD THE SAME TYPES OF RUNS IF WE DIDN'T HAVE IT.

FINK ON STOCKS:

THE INDIVIDUAL INVESTOR HAS LEARNED THAT HOUSING IS NOT THAT PANACEA, AND SO WE HAVE THAT ISSUE, BONDS ARE NOT THAT PANACEA THEY ARE A GREAT PLACE OF STABLE VALUE IF YOU ARE IN THE SHORT END…STOCKS TO ME REPRESENT THE BEST VALUE IN MANY, MANY YEARS .

FINK ON NATURAL GAS:

THIS IS A COUNTRY THAT HAS BEEN BLESSED WITH SO MANY NATURAL RESOURCES. WE CAN BECOME ENERGY INDEPENDENT. WE SHOULD SET THAT AS A GOAL. WE SHOULD BE BUILDING…FOR EXPORT IF WE DETERMINE THAT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO WITH NATURAL GAS. WE SHOULD BE TRANSFORMING OUR GAS STATIONS TO NATURAL GAS STATIONS. EVERY TRUCK IN AMERICA SHOULD BE TRANSFERRING TO NATURAL GAS. WE CAN DO MANY THINGS FOR JOBS. WE CAN DO MANY THINGS TO REVITALIZE THIS COUNTRY.
