Securifi has made the world's first touch-screen wireless router. The Almond allows users to do all the configuration without a computer, making it more user friendly for the not so tech savvy consumer.
It features a 320x240-pixel 2.8-inch full-color touch-screen and has a wi-fi range of about 300 feet. There are plans to install apps on the router as well, such as a weather app.
Securifi officially launched as a company in January 2012, and is a private company with a couple dozen employees, Kimberly Fabiano, a spokesman for the company said.
The Almond is the company's first product, but it will also be launching an Almond DSL, which will be geared towards the trade side of the wireless industry for wireless carriers to purchase, Fabiano said.
The Almond, which was first introduced at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show, will begin shipping from Amazon this week with a pricetag of $79.00.
