As chief technology officer, Paul Horvath leads a multi-disciplined team responsible for delivering solutions that enable Sweetgreen to connect communities to real food. In his current position, Paul is focused on driving change, challenging the status quo and helping to develop the restaurant OS of the future.
Paul joined Sweetgreen in 2019 after spending more than a decade at Amazon. Paul was one of the earliest members of the Amazon Web Services team where he built the Solutions Architect function within Amazon. After spending 7 years in AWS Paul transitioned to AmazonFresh where he led global product and technology teams that enabled Fresh to expand globally and to incorporate Amazon's acquisition of Whole Foods.
Prior to joining Amazon Paul was the CTO of TC3 Health for 5 years. During that time Paul and his team built a suite of fraud detection tools as well as the first HIPAA compliant application to run in a public cloud
Paul was born in Cleveland Ohio and moved to California as part of his time in the Navy. Paul and his family now reside in San Juan Capistrano California. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter as well as a variety of outdoor activities including mountain biking, running, motorcycle riding and boating.
