Ryan Ruggiero has been a part of the CNBC family since March of 2006. He currently serves as the Senior Assignment Desk Manager for CNBC. Ruggiero is responsible for helping oversee all of CNBC's global news gathering coverage and managing our award-winning internship program.
With over 15 years of experience in news gathering, Ruggiero provides leadership to interns, social media editors, producers, correspondents and anchors across the newsroom in order to help cover the world of business and finance across all of CNBC's global platforms. As a manager for our award-winning internship program, Ruggiero has recruited, trained and mentored hundreds of students from all over the world as interns within the CNBC family, many of whom are now CNBC employees. In addition to helping run the assignment desk, Ruggiero was one of the key architects of starting CNBC's social media strategy which has now become a leader among business news outlets. Ruggiero currently serves at the editor of CNBC's travel related social media pages.
Ruggiero launched his career as an intern at WHDH-TV in 2002 in Boston. He quickly rose through the ranks from desk assistant to running the assignment desk before joining the team at CNBC. Ruggiero also holds a BSBA in accounting from Suffolk University, where he graduated cum lade.
