Sheila Jordan is senior vice president and chief information officer at Symantec, the global leader in cybersecurity. She is responsible for driving Symantec's information technology strategy and operations, ensuring that the company has the right talent, stays ahead of technology trends and maximizes the value of technology investments. Her mission has been to transform the company while driving increased productivity, revenue optimization and more simple and intuitive experiences overall for Symantec's global workforce, customers and partners.
Since joining Symantec in February 2014, Jordan has driven transformational change in the following areas: insourced all IT operations from a global outsourcer, resulting in significant cost savings and increased agility. Completed two significant divestitures and six acquisitions, enabling Symantec to become a more focused cyber security company. Jordan was responsible for driving the integration and transformation required to ensure those M&A activities were successful. Migrated most of the consumer business applications and workloads to public cloud — more than 200 in one year's time with no business disruption. Built a globally diverse, world-class IT organization with over 50 percent of employees based in India.
Prior to joining Symantec, Jordan served as senior vice president of communication and collaboration IT at Cisco Systems. Within her purview at Cisco were collaboration platforms, user experience and support, and communications, collaboration and mobility services. In addition, she ran most global applications across the company, including finance, HR and engineering for a workforce of 65,000 employees.
Earlier in her career, Jordan worked at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, where she was senior vice president of Destination Disney. A key architect of the strategic planning process, she was responsible for delivering profitable growth. She was also instrumental in integrating marketing, sales, and services across the organization as Disney transformed its business from a product-centric to a guest-centric organization.
In June 2016 Jordan joined the board of directors of FactSet Research Systems, a $1.2 billion global company that delivers the world's best insight and information to investment professionals through superior analytics, service, content and technology.
Jordan holds a BA degree in accounting from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology.
