Study shows messaging encourages consumers to save during tax-time
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau released the results of a pilot study called "Planning for Tax-Time Savings." The study was launched in 2015 with H&R Block and shows that simple messages encouraging customers to use their pre-paid card to save at tax time increased the likelihood that they would. Kathy Kraninger, director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, joins "Squawk Box" to discuss the study and how consumers can us CFPB resources to save.
