Hong Kong withdraws extradition bill that sparked months of protest
Hong Kong's leader Carrie Lam said she has withdrawn an extradition bill that led to months of protests. The bill would have allowed people in Hong Kong to be extradited to mainland China to stand trial. Lam suspended the bill in June, but protesters feared it could be brought back. Full withdrawal of the extradition bill is one of five demands protesters have asked the government to meet.
