Hong Kong protesters flooded the city's streets in defiance of a ban by the authorities on their march. The protesters set up roadblocks, tossing firebombs amid the firing of tear gas by police. Police deployed a water canon outside the city's largest mosque, upsetting Muslim worshippers. Senior police officials met with community leaders to apologize.
