Economy class meals used to mean dried-out chicken lunches and mushy pasta dinners. In the early 2000's airlines faced falling profits following the 9/11 terrorist attacks and some carriers even stopped serving meals altogether to save money. But in 2019 U.S. airlines posted their tenth straight year of profitability and premium and economy cabins are seeing more food options than ever before.
