Spain's coronavirus death toll spikes to more than 2,600 overnight
More than 2,500 people in Spain have died amid the coronavirus pandemic. There are 39,673 cases in Spain, making it Europe's second-worst affected country after Italy. Spain is also extending it's two-week state of emergency that was implemented on March 14, which means the lockdown will last for at least one month. This comes as Italy saw a decrease in its daily death toll, but the situation remains dire.
