How the NASDAQ historically performs after a hot streak
The Nasdaq's hot streak cooled off this week. The tech-heavy stock market index helped lead the U.S. market back out of a correction. The index remains about 10% off its all-time highs, but it's been hovering above its 200-day moving average for 16 straight sessions. There have been five similar periods since 2000 when the Nasdaq outperformed the Dow by at least 10% for five consecutive days.
