EPL pandemic losses may lead to a 'fundamental shift in business models' for smaller clubs: Deloitte
James Walton of Deloitte Southeast Asia discusses the future of the English Premier League as it returns after being suspended amid the pandemic. Although the league is resuming without spectators due to tight restrictions, he is confident that fans will come back in the next season. He predicts a 1.1 billion Euro loss for EPL teams, half of which can be made up this season. He foresees larger clubs taking less of a hit as they rely less on match-day revenues.
