White House says Trump fired Manhattan US Attorney to keep SEC chief Jay Clayton in government

President Donald Trump fired Geoffrey Berman, the top federal prosecutor in Manhattan, over the weekend in order to give Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Jay Clayton another job and keep him "in government," White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany said Monday.
