Surge in dengue cases could mean a 'really bad time' for Southeast Asia: Expert

Infectious disease specialist Dr Leong Hoe Nam of Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital in Singapore says he believes the outbreak of dengue fever in the country is of equal concern with Covid-19, as battling two infections concurrently will put a greater strain on resources. He notes the difficulty of tackling the disease, and his concern that a new serotype prevalent this year will mean a "really bad time" for Southeast Asia.
