Insurers are preparing for payouts as twin storms make landfall

Marco strengthened into a hurricane over the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday on its way toward the Louisiana coast, according to data from an Air Force Reserve hurricane hunter aircraft. Tropical Storm Laura, which hit the Dominican Republic and Haiti and is headed toward the U.S. coast, is also expected to develop into a hurricane.
