Calif. Governor Newsom on plan to address California's homeless issue: 'We are giving them hope'
In a CNBC exclusive, California Governor Gavin Newsom sits down with CNBC's Yasmin Khorram. On Wednesday the governor signed the CARE court legislation which will provide court-ordered care for unhoused people with severe mental disorders. Newsom tells CNBC this legislation will bring people hope, adding "nothing like this has ever existed in this state and we don't know of any other model like this anywhere in the country."
