Wells Fargo Has Begun Foreclosure Review: Report

Wells Fargo has begun a review of pending home foreclosures, making it the latest major lender to announce an investigation into potentially fraudulent foreclosure affidavits, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Wells Fargo could not confirm how many states would be affected by the review.

The announcement from the San Francisco-based lender comes amid a growing industry-wide investigation into allegations of so-called "robo-signing," where mortgage agents are alleged to have signed hundreds of potentially fraudulent foreclosure documents a day.
