States with the Most Millionaires

annual list of states with the highest percentage of millionaires by population shows the number has decreased nationwide. Phoenix Marketing International's annual list of states with the highest percentage of millionaires by population shows the number has decreased nationwide.

The study defines millionaire households as those with $1 million or more in investable or liquid assets (excluding sponsored retirement plans and real estate), and found that the number of millionaires in the US declined 14 percent since 2007.
