Rare 60-year-old Macallan for sale ... at Costco

A rare and very expensive bottle of scotch is available at a store in Scottsdale, Ariz., for just under $17,000.

It's called "The Macallan 60 Years Old in Lalique."

According to the company's website, the cherry-colored scotch's "nose" is "complex, cinnamon, toasted apple and lemon intertwined with blackcurrant leaf and polished oak, all encompassed by peat."

Only 400 bottles were made and just 72 of them are available for sale in the United States.

At Costco's price of $16,999 for the 750 milliliter bottle, a single shot would cost you about $1,000.

While Costco's warehouse stores are best known for their enormous packages of paper towels and big bottles of ketchup, the retailer also carries some luxury items for short periods of times to create what it calls a "treasure hunt" experience for its customers.
