Washington stalemate has homebuyers on hold: Lennar CEO

The political impasse in the Capital is causing homebuyers to wait before closing deals, said Stuart Miller, CEO of home builder Lennar.

"With the political confusion around the government shutdown and the debt ceiling, consumers ask, 'Am I ready to actually make a decision?' " he told CNBC. "So there's a slowing process in the decision-making."

However, Miller said, "demand for housing continues to remain strong" across the country.
