Toyota negotiating to settle sudden-acceleration lawsuits

Toyota has entered negotiations to settle hundreds of sudden-acceleration lawsuits, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

The state and federal suits claim that defects caused the vehicles hundreds of crashes, which ended in deaths and serious injuries. To date, the automaker has spent about $2 billion to battle the suits.
