Most expensive views in the U.S.
In the world of superluxury real estate, location, location, location isn't worth all that much unless it includes views, views, views.
In other words, to command an eye-popping price tag, a property had better have eye-popping scenery.
These are just some of the mind-blowing views revealed in CNBC's "Secret Lives of the Super Rich."

10. 182 Bal Bay
Sale price: $17.5 million
Location: Bal Harbour, Fla.
The infinity pool at this amazing pad overlooks 200 feet of Bal Harbour's exclusive waterfront. You can watch yachts and even dolphins (we snapped a glimpse of Flipper from the living room while shooting an episode of "Secret Lives of the Super Rich" here.)
The mansion, almost 13,000 square feet, includes eight bedrooms and 10 baths. The new owners scooped up the property this past October—just in time for winter.
9. Fairmont Hotel presidential penthouse suite
Value: $20 million
Location: San Francisco
This is the glorious City by the Bay as seen from the terrace of the Fairmont's VIP presidential penthouse. Unlike some other "presidential" suites, U.S. presidents—as well as rock stars and royalty—have actually slept here.
It's not for sale, but the Fairmont values the recently renovated suite at $20 million, so waking up there will run you $15,000 a night (breakfast included).
8. 4 Tahiti Beach
List price: $25 million
Location: Coral Gables, Fla.
This mansion overlooks a private stretch of beach, with the ocean so close you can see and hear the waves from just about every one of the house's 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
7. 1 Electra Court
Sale price: $30 million
Location: Los Angeles
This epic view from a trophy property perched high in the Hollywood Hills takes in a great deal of the Los Angeles basin, as well as the Pacific Ocean in the distance.
Just weeks after we shot an episode of "Secret Lives of the Super Rich" here, Hollywood producer Megan Ellison ("True Grit," "Zero Dark Thirty," "American Hustle") snatched up the property for a reported $20 million—and the empty lot below for $10 million.
Ellison also happens to be the daughter of tech billionaire Larry Ellison, the third-richest person in America.
6. One Madison penthouse
List price: $50 million
Location: New York
Wow! This eye-popping photo was snapped from the penthouse at One Madison, a glass tower offering some of the most stunning skyline views in all of Gotham.
This shot looks north, toward the Empire State Building, but there are equally exciting views to the south, east and west. The penthouse takes up the building's top two floors.
5. Trump SoHo penthouse residence
List price: $50 million
Location: New York
This is just one of the jaw-dropping views from the top floor of the Trump SoHo penthouse. The residence towers over lower Manhattan, offering mesmerizing views in every direction.
The 360-degree panorama comes with 10,000 square feet of space that unfolds on the top two floors of the Trump SoHo New York hotel.
4. La Villa Contenta
List price: $54,000,000
Location: Malibu, Calif.
The views from this trophy beach house include rolling lawns, perfectly manicured landscaping, palm trees and, oh yeah, the Pacific Ocean.
By the way, that building to the right is not the residence but the generously proportioned pool house. That building offers pretty cool eye candy, too, as all its surfaces and fixtures are intricately decorated with seashells.
3. 4 Peaks Ranch
List price: $65 million
Location: Snowmass, Colo.
This über-ranch just outside of Aspen overlooks an 876-acre backyard and four mountains: Mount Sopris, Mount Daly, Capital Peak and Snowmass, which clearly inspired the property's name.
Just about every window of the 18,000-square-foot home offers a glimpse of startling beauty, and you can also enjoy the scenery from thehome's private beach and indoor-outdoor pool.
2. The Plaza penthouse
List price: $80 million
Location: New York
Central Park views don't get any better.
The view from this private terrace at the top of The Plaza's duplex penthouse includes the dome that crowns the iconic hotel.
And speaking of iconic: The apartment is home to designer Tommy Hilfiger and his wife, Dee Ocleppo. The view of his closet is pretty impressive, too.
1. Sherry Netherland penthouse
List price: $95 million
Location: New York
This eight-figure view of Central Park is from the 18th-floor penthouse of the Sherry Netherland on Fifth Avenue (directly across the street from the Hilfiger penthouse at The Plaza).
The 9,000-square-foot residence in the sky includes three elevators, which open into its foyer. The unit's current owner is Gilbert Haroche, the founder of Liberty Travel.
