After-hours buzz: Nike, Symantec & More

Check out which companies are making headlines after the bell Thursday:

Nike - The seller of athletic footwear and related products posted third-quarter earnings per share of 76 cents on $6.97 billion in revenue. Analysts expected EPS of 72 cents on $6.68 billion in sales. Its shares rose 1 percent in after-hours trade.

Zions Bancorp - Shares of the regional bank fell 0.9 percent in after-hours trading after the Federal Reserve said it was the only major bank of 30 that failed to meet stressed capital requirements.

Symantec - The data-security company terminated Steve Bennett as president and chief executive. Its shares declined 4.8 percent in after-hours trading.

Tibco Software - The provider of infrastructure software reported first-quarter earnings per share of 19 cents, excluding items, on $252.9 million in revenue. Estimates called for EPS of 18 cents on $251 million in sales. Its shares jumped 3.8 percent in after-hours trading.

Discover Financial Services -The bank-holding company proposed raising its next quarterly dividend to 24 cents from 20 cents and share repurchases of up to $1.6 billion during the four quarters ending March 31, 2015. Its shares edged 0.3 percent higher in after-hours trade.
