With all the hype over smartwatches—whether or just hotly anticipated—the next frontier in wearables is probably much smaller.
The San Francisco Gate has a story on the latest designs in "smart" rings, at least two of which—Ring and NFC Ring—got funding via Kickstarter.
The devices promise to do things like unlock your car door, enable mobile payments, type in mid-air, and any number of other tasks just by waving your finger around.
That said, some think the whole thing is just another over-hyped fad, even if it manages to draw a ton of venture capital.
