Skyworks Solutions - The provider of analog semiconductors rose after posting better-than-expected third-quarter results. Rivals including RF Micro Devices and TriQuint Semiconductor also gained.
TerraForm Power - The solar-plant owner surged in its market debut.
Trupanion - The provider of pet insurance gained on its first day of trading.
Williams Companies - The supplier of energy infrastructure was among the second-quarter winners listed in Dan Loeb's Third Point investment letter. Other winners listed included Dow Chemical and Anadarko Petroleum; laggards included Ally Financial, Sony and Rackspace Hosting.
