Scientists have found seaweed that tastes like bacon

Scientists are researching a form of healthful seaweed which when fried, tastes remarkably like bacon, according to Grub Street.

Dulse is "a strain of translucent-red seaweed that Oregon State researchers say tastes like bacon and packs twice the nutrients of kale," according to the report.

Oregon State University's Hatfield Marine Science Center holds the patent for this particular strain of dulse, referred to as "baconweed," and scientists are researching the best way to use the product.
