Apple delays TV streaming service

Apple fans may have to wait a little bit longer for its long-rumored TV streaming service, according to investment firm, Piper Jaffray.

Gene Munster, Piper Jaffray's lead Internet analyst, said there was a "50-50" chance that Apple decides to unveil its streaming TV service for cord cutters at the tech giant's Sept. 9 keynote presentation.

Other reports gave lower odds. On Friday, Bloomberg reported that Apple was going to delay the streaming TV announcement because of stalled talks with TV networks. Bloomberg cited anonymous sources.

Both reports said that Apple is still expected to unveil a new Apple TV set-top box at the event. This will be the first upgrade since 2012 for the device.

In other Apple news, CEO Tim Cook announced the company more than doubled the hiring of women and minorities, although he admits there's still a lot more work to be done.

Apple did not immediately respond CNBC's request for comment.
