Tesla Motors has lost another employee to Apple.

Electric vehicle news site Electrek reported that Apple has hired Chris Porritt, former vice president of vehicle engineering for Tesla and former chief engineer for Aston Martin.

Sources told Electrek that Porritt joins the Cupertino, California-based company as "Special Projects Group PD Administrator," which the news outlet noted was "intentionally vague."

Apple's CarPlay system is seen in a touchscreen console. Apple's Project Titan plans to test a self-driving car at a secret location around San Francisco.

Electrek confirmed that Porritt did not go to Apple, which CEO Elon Musk has previously referred to as the "Tesla graveyard," immediately after leaving Tesla as there was a gap of a few months between the two roles.

Apple declined to comment. Tesla also declined to comment saying the company doesn't discuss current or former employees.
