Apple shares dip after Icahn says he sold his stake

Apple shares extended losses Thursday, falling more than 3 percent after activist investor Carl Icahn said he sold his stake in the company.

Icahn held a 0.8 percent stake as of Dec. 31, before selling his stake.

Apple's stock has taken a tumble this week, falling nearly 9 percent, on the heels of weaker-than-expected quarterly results, which led to a slew of analysts cutting their price targets.
