Three people with multiple loaded guns and knives were arrested Tuesday at the Holland Tunnel, authorities told NBC 4 New York.
Police stopped the individuals for driving with a cracked windshield at around 8 a.m. EDT on the New Jersey side of the tunnel, the authorities told NBC's New York affiliate.
A search of their brightly colored Dodge utility vehicle revealed the store of weapons, the media outlet reported. Two senior law enforcement officials told NBC 4 New York that the three suspects are "gun enthusiasts" and have no links to terror.
NBC 4 New York also reported that one of the suspects allegedly told authorities the trio was going to Queens to attempt to save a friend being held against her will. Police are looking for the possible woman in Queens, according to the media outlet.
One law enforcement official also told NBC 4 New York there were drugs in the car as well. The truck was impounded after the stop, the news organization said.
