Charlotte, NC, erupts after fatal police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott

Protests erupted in Charlotte, North Carolina, after the fatal shooting of a black man, 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott, by police. The governor declared a state of emergency as protesters clashed with riot police. Police say Scott was holding a gun, his family say he was holding a book. The officer who shot Scott is black. Scott's family is calling on protesters to be peaceful.
