Jimmy Scott: Koy Clothing

Jimmy was born in South Africa, and moved with his family to Kenya when he was 6 months old. He lived there until he was 9, when he was sent to boarding school in Somerset, England with his brother.

He works as a Business Development and Marketing Manager at Beaufort House Chelsea, and previously worked in marketing for a string of cocktail bars.

Jimmy describes himself as a charismatic individual with lots of energy and enthusiasm. He is fun, sociable and outgoing. He loves taking chances and believes in a no risk no reward way of living. He thinks that it's his entrepreneurial passion that drives him to experience and learn new things, to and learn from his mistakes.

Jimmy's business is called Koy Clothing, specialising in making high quality garments made using the unique African fabric called Kikoy, which is 100% cotton, dyed in Kenya with locally produced dyes. Each Jacket is named after a tribe in Kenya. His target market is men that enjoy going to events such as; the horse races, Twickenham rugby, Lords cricket, Henley Regatta rowing, and the wedding market.

Jimmy wants to use his visit to China to find a quality-clothing manufacturer that can help him expand his range, and deliver the quality and quantity he needs to grow his business.

He wants his company to be known as a brand that brings the fun and confidence out in others, and not hide in the shadows. The company slogan is 'Don't be Coy, wear Koy!'
