What I am looking at, January 19, 2022: Macro: oil to $100?... Ukraine "needs" Russian help...10- year to 2%?... Fed readying for talk of 50 bps hike not 25 bps?... that's how it has been before when Fed got behind curve... big Dow Earnings today (PG, UNH) Be sure to check out the Morning Meeting for club members with Jeff Marks and I at 10:20 a.m. Morgan Stanley (MS) was at $93 and change at one point in premarket... BUY IT there—major subject of Morning Meeting...initially looks costs not up...wealth management bonanza... United Health (UNH) good but not the usual blowout although I like Optum and it's better than Humana... SoFi (SOFI) gets bank charter ... what does it mean for shareholders and depositors?... Tonight, CEO Noto is on Mad Money with answers... Year ago... Meme world born... SEC' s reflections?... We have Chairman Gensler on Mad tonight... Toll Brothers (TOL) ... KeyBanc takes it to SELL... says tailwinds are disappearing but low multiple discounts that... KB Home (KBH) to sell, too.... Even Lennar (LEN) at sell also!... D.R. Horton (DHI) buy to hold... Las Vegas Sands (LVS) ... UBS goes neutral to buy... A pathetic reiteration of the love for Tesla (TSLA) from Piper... give it a break for a few days please... Wells Fargo upgrades Dexcom from hold to buy-I like this as the lead widens between DexCom (DXCM) and the rest… Grocery Outlet (GO) will have margin pressures...so Bank of America goes to sell from hold... McCormick (MKC) spice buy to hold at Credit Suisse... Do you really take this one down now when institutional business is going higher? Goldman Sachs (GS) ...JMP and JPM saying much better... We have to be careful describing GS as having higher expenses... remember GS partners have variable compensation, can be slashed, Why it deserves a HIGHER multiple... but we got Oppenheimer price target cut... that's just following the sell-off.. really questionable... Procter & Gamble (PG) ... grooming up 5% in quarter ; health care up 8%; beauty up 2%, fabric and home up 8%... Kroger (KR) ... Bank of America to hold from sell... says in solid position for 2022 Exxon (XOM) RBC upgrade to sector perform...cites sector tailwinds... Bank of America (BAC) ... did unbelievable number ... and company says net interest income will increase $6.5B on four 25 bps rate increases… most levered...another bank report that is not good enough?... or this a game that is out of sync with ten year/possible half point move?... if this report at been before JPMorgan results, would be up 5%... ASML (ASML) ... forecast below numbers... Oh please… chip shortage will make it so it can't possibly meet demand especially if west allows China to have some... Alibaba (BABA) ... Ray Jay pt goes to $200 from $220 Ray Jay—slowing Chinese economy... not a good reason to sell, you sell because the PRC wants you to sell... Oil company breakeven in Permian is $30 and still not increasing spending... we own the best Chevron (CVX) ... looking at Conoco (COP) , Devon Energy (DVN) (only on a pullback), and Pioneer (PXD) ... American Express (AXP) ... $198 pt lowered from $215 at JPMorgan... says cyclical eps peak.. Cisco (CSCO) ... Goldman downgrades buy to hold on peak in enterprise spend... Huh?
