Asian Shares Open Higher, Boosted by Upbeat China PMI Data

Asian shares opened higher on Monday, boosted by news at the weekend of a rise in China's official Purchasing Managers' Index to a 7-month high of 50.6 in November.

Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 stock index rose 0.4 percent, while South Korean shares gained 0.2 percent. Australian shares also added 0.2 percent in early trade.
