The group was organized by CREDO Mobile, a network provider that advocates for social and political change.
A statement from Facebook didn't address the issue. It said: "Mark and Priscilla have worked closely with Governor Christie on education reform in the Newark school system. They admire his leadership on education reform and other issues and look forward to continuing their important work together on behalf of Newark's school children."
Protesters weren't the only ones who showed up at the fundraiser, though. Some notable and invited guests were also in attendance.

While no formal guest list was released, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was spotted in attendance, as well as some Facebook executives.
Donations, which were capped at $3,800, are going to Republican Christi's gubernatorial re-election campaign.
