New York's realtor to the super-rich is striking out on her own.
I. Dolly Lenz, who has brokered more than $8 billion in deals over 25 years and has long been on the top real-estate deal-makers in New York, is leaving Douglas Elliman Real Estate. She is expected to take with her a team of brokers and staffers.
Lenz is a CNBC contributor and is featured in CNBC's "Secret Lives of the Super Rich: Megahomes."
A spokesperson for Elliman declined comment, saying only, "we wish her well."
Lenz said that she's leaving to "pursue other opportunities" that will be announced in the coming months. While she declined to be specific, it's likely that she'll carve out a bigger role in the real-estate market rather than joining another agency as a broker.
Aside from forging relationships with some of the richest buyers and sellers in New York real-estate, Lenz has run successful marketing and sales operations of several large building conversions in Manhattan, including the Apthorp, Manhattan House, the Cipriani Club Residences at 55 Wall Street and Miraval Living.
