Southwest flight lands without front landing gear

A Southwest Airlines plane flying from Nashville to New York City landed without its nose gear at LaGuardia airport on Monday but no one was hurt, the airline said.

According to the statement released to CNBC, Flight 345, a Boeing 737-700 jet, landed at 5:40pm eastern time, and eye witnesses say the aircraft's nose gear collapsed upon landing.

The airline said there were 150 people on board including passengers and crew, and everyone has been evacuated from the plane.

Southwest is cooperating with local authorities in investigations, and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has been notified, the airline said.
