Trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market was halted for more than an hour Thursday because of an unexplained technical issue. It is the latest in a string of trading glitches.

- June 6, 2013: The NYSE Euronext opening was delayed in markets based in Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Lisbon due to technical problems.
- April 25, 2013: The Chicago Board Options Exchange had a delayed opening due to an "internal systems issue."
- August 6, 2013 - BATS Global Markets has an outage that lasts nearly an hour, which was attributed to an "internal network problem."
- May 18, 2012: Facebook's initial public offering was delayed about half an hour due to technical problems with the Nasdaq exchange.
- March 23, 2012 - BATS Global Markets experiences a software glitch, forcing the exchange to cancel its own IPO.
- Feb. 25, 2011: The London Stock Exchange halted trading for more than four hours because of a technical problem that the exchange attributed to real-time data feeds.
- May 6, 2010 - Computer-trading systems fail across the U.S., causing a "flash crash," that sent the Dow Jones Industrial Average plunging about 1,000 points, or nearly 10 percent, followed by a quick recovery.
