An employee at the center of an increasingly messy marital split between Google co-founder Sergey Brin and his wife has been removed from his orbit at the office, the New York Post reported, citing a source familiar with the situation.

One of Silicon Valley's biggest icons, Brin has been romantically linked to Amanda Rosenberg, who herself was involved with another Google staffer who resigned this week. Brin's affair hit the tabloids this week after reports surfaced that he'd split with Anne Wojcicki.

The Post said that 27-year old Rosenberg, a marketing manager for Google Glass, had been transferred out from under Brin's direct supervision, according to an anonymous source. She will now "be even further from Sergey in the chain of command," the source said.

Another source with knowledge of Brin's romance told the New York Post it was "open to debate" whether Rosenberg caused the split, and noted that the mogul's marriage was "complicated."
