Snapchat now has 350 million messages sent on its platform everyday—nearly double the rate of just a few months ago, said the company's CEO Evan Spiegel on Monday.
In June, there were 200 million messages being sent each day.

The mobile app, which allows users to send self-destructing pictures and videos to friends who also use the app, has seen significant growth on the Android platform, Spiegel said at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference.
The daily install rate for the app on Android devices has increased 50 percent during the last month.
Snapchat also said Monday that it is getting into the wearable space and rolling out an app designed for Samsung's new Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Spiegel said that its smartwatch app, which is called Snapchat Micro, will allow users to share pictures more quickly than if they were using the app on their smartphone.
But the company is less enthusiastic about putting its app on Google Glass. Spiegel said the connected eye-wear often feels threatening to those who are not wearing it and that his company is not planning on rolling out the app for the device.
"It kind of feels like you have a gun pointed at you. We're not exploring it right now," he said.
